The Quaker Youth Theatre was established in 1978 with a street theatre performance at Residential Yearly meeting in Lancaster.

Since then QYT has gone on to offer residential summer projects all over Great Britain including: Aberdeen, Belfast, Newcastle, Aberystwyth, and Exeter.

We encourage members to initiate and organise community theatre projects working co-operatively with young people from other communities under a programme called Theatre-Go-Rounds. These projects have been based in Derry, Northern Ireland; Riga, German Democratic Republic, and Transylvania region of Romania.

We also offer training and support to encourage members to run drama workshops for young people affiliated to Preparative Meetings and their friends.
