For the Summer 2000 project, QYT struck out to a new region and new venture. The company gathered in Ilfracombe, North Devon to perform at the National Youth Arts Festival.
A small company of 12 members devised a show about Chris Hunter's work in Chechnya, and the story of the kidnapping of Jon James, and Camilla Carr. The show, Little Star, was performed in the Festival Marque and the Lantern Theatre during the festival to over 100 young people, youth workers, and local people.
For the festival week the company expanded to include five additional QYT members and three local young people as all joined in the circus, street theatre, DJing, and acting workshops. Lauri, one of our members was on the winning Green Team for the Wacky Races on the final night of the festival. Well done. Lauri!
