I have been involved with the Leaveners since November last year, but the Young Singers weekend in April was my first experience of working as a facilitator on a project.

We arrived at Worcester Meeting House at various times on Friday evening, all bearing plenty of luggage; in a few cases this included many bulging bags of food to keep us sustained over the weekend. Being one of those carrying bags, I can only say I am glad there were not more than six on the project!!! (Or I wish that I had a car!..) It is unusual for a Leaveners project to have such a small number of participants, but the smallness of the group certainly added something to the atmosphere, and the whole weekend was a very enjoyable experience.

We experimented with lots of different music, singing from Adiemus, Songs of Sanctuary, which included some nerve-racking solos, an African song including some improvised drumming, and a last minute entry to the programme: 'Send for the Doctor', an amusing round we all learned on Saturday night.

We joined with Worcester Meeting on Sunday for Worship followed by a Shared Lunch, which was in turn followed by a short concert to share our efforts.
