On Maundy Thursday evening 2000, 45 members of the Quaker Orchestra and Chorus gathered at Manchester Metropolitan University to begin a weekend of learning new choral works about Creation. In addition 5 non-musicians gathered to explore Creation and creativity in workshops which included writing, poetry, movement and stories, and science. On Sunday evening the orchestra and chorus performed new works by Alison Leonard and Patrick Jones in the Chapman Theatre in Salford. The entire programme consisted of a first half of choral music, poetry and Elgar's Serenade for Strings, and the second half featured Chris Clarke giving a scientist's perspective and Eric Maddern weaving the science into storytelling.

This project will be continuing with a series of workshops and leading to an Easter 2003 residential project called Walk the Dream: exploring Creation creatively. This project is in partnership with GreenSpirit, and will give participants the chance to tryout participating in a variety of art forms and create new works. See Upcoming Events.
